Make a WAY For customers to PAY

I’ve been using the Shoestring101 principles… again… to revamp an existing business: my martial arts school. So we’re getting new Students in the door, left and right. Good times.I got thrown for a loop today because I had a fairly big order to process… three new Students, their registrations, equipment, and tee shirts… and I gave all that stuff to the kids before finding out that mom didn’t have a check to pay with. She had a credit card.

I haven’t accepted credit cards for years because of the expense of leasing a machine and other hassles… but then it’s a new world these days.

So, here’s a novel idea: if you are running a business, how’s about making it possible for your customers to pay you? Kurt had to come up with a solution on the spot… and he did. After the customer said that all she had was a credit card, I put out my hand… wrote down the necessary info on a sticky note that I attached to her New Student application… and brought it home tonight.

This is how easy it is to accept payments for your goods and services from all over the world:

1) Set up a PayPal account

2) Get it verified

3) Go to the section of the PayPal webiste that helps you to make a PayPal button.

4) Copy and paste the code into the HTML on your blog

DONE!

Here’s an example:

The above button was made in about three minutes and it’s good for signing up three Students.

Here’s the other one I made for Tee Shirts:

Crude, I know. But quick. Making these PayPal buttons right quick enabled me to bill $587 worth of services. I thought that posting this little quickie tutorial might encourage a few of you out there to set up a way to allow your customers to pay you.Keep Stepping,Kurt
